As technology continues to reshape how practitioners deliver legal services, the Law Society Technology Committee is committed to helping practitioners navigate this evolving landscape. That’s why we are very pleased to draw attention to the work of five Irish-founded, Enterprise Ireland-backed companies building software for the legal sector.
Whilst we are delighted to show-case these legal technology offerings, the Committee's role is to help members stay informed about technological developments in the delivery of legal practice, not to promote, advise or recommend any particular product. The summaries below are drawn from information published by each company and are provided to raise awareness of the range of Irish legal technology now available. Firms and in-house teams considering any of these tools should carry out their own due diligence, including on data protection, security, and regulatory compliance, before adoption. First due diligence — AML Manager
AML Manager is a compliance tool built specifically around the anti-money laundering obligations that apply to solicitors, distinct from transaction-monitoring systems used in banking. It is designed to address the fact that client due diligence in a legal practice is not transaction-based and is often time-consuming to administer manually.
The system allows a firm to send clients a secure online form to collect identity and source-of-funds information, supported by photo ID capture and document upload. It then guides users through a structured risk assessment covering client, service, geographic, sector, and delivery-channel risk factors, in line with the categories set out in Law Society and CCAB AML guidance. Completed assessments are compiled into a Client Due Diligence report, and firm-wide dashboards give managing partners and compliance officers oversight of outstanding actions, risk ratings, and upcoming review dates across offices and fee earners. Data is stated to be encrypted in transit and at rest and hosted in the EU.
For private practice, this may be of most relevance to AML/MLRO functions responsible for firm-wide compliance oversight and practice management reviews. In-house teams with client-facing AML obligations (for example, in regulated sectors) may also find the risk-assessment structure relevant.
Bundledocs
Bundledocs, founded in Cork in 2019, provides a cloud-based platform for producing, reviewing, and collaborating on legal document bundles — commonly required for litigation, arbitration, tribunal hearings, and transactional closings. The platform allows users to collect documents from multiple sources, collate them into a single bundle, publish it securely online, invite other parties (such as counsel, clients, or opposing solicitors) to review it, and co-edit the bundle with live, automatically synced updates as pages are added, removed, or reordered.
According to the company, it is used by more than 1,800 organisations across 34 countries, including over 120 of the UK's top 200 law firms, and offers 24/5 support. This type of tool may be of interest to litigation and dispute resolution practitioners, as well as to court and tribunal users more generally, given the recurring administrative burden of assembling and paginating booklets of pleadings, correspondence, and exhibits.
Generait
Generait is an AI-enabled document processing tool that operates within Microsoft Word, aimed at drafting, reviewing, and compliance-checking legal documents. Its stated functions include document automation (populating long-form documents and regulatory forms from source data), compliance checking (validating draft wording against applicable regulations and internal firm or client policies, with a human-in-the-loop review and audit trail), and configurable AI workflows built around a firm's existing processes.
The company indicates that its tool has been piloted with corporate law firms and used by compliance specialists and fund administration providers, primarily in the context of regulatory and funds documentation. Practitioners working in corporate, funds, and regulatory practice areas — including in-house legal and compliance teams in regulated entities — may find this category of tool relevant to reducing time spent on repetitive drafting and cross-referencing tasks, subject to the usual professional obligations around supervision and verification of AI-assisted output.
Platforum9
Platforum9 is a mobile app aimed at supporting professional networking, knowledge-sharing, and referrals among legal professionals, using a live and recorded audio ("forum") format. Content is organised into subject categories, with sessions curated and moderated by designated moderators and made available live or as recordings and transcriptions afterwards. The app also facilitates direct lawyer-to-lawyer referrals and profile-based search within the platform's community of verified members.
This may be of interest to solicitors, particularly trainees, younger practitioners, and those in smaller or geographically isolated practices, seeking accessible routes to peer engagement, CPD-adjacent content, and referral networks, as well as in-house counsel looking to stay connected with developments in their practice area.
TrialView
TrialView is a cloud-based case management and litigation support platform designed to assist legal teams in organising, analysing and presenting case materials throughout the lifecycle of a dispute. The platform enables users to centralise documents, evidence, witness statements, correspondence and key dates within a single workspace, providing a structured view of complex matters and facilitating collaboration between solicitors, counsel and clients.
The system is designed to support case preparation by improving visibility over case materials and allowing users to quickly locate relevant documents, identify key issues and prepare hearing bundles. TrialView also offers tools to assist with chronology management, document review and trial preparation, helping legal teams manage large volumes of information more efficiently.
This category of tool may be of particular relevance to litigation, dispute resolution and regulatory investigation teams, as well as in-house legal departments managing contentious matters.
