Meet our speakers

The summit, hosted through fireside chats, promises to be a fascinating and inspirational event. Leading General Counsel in Ireland have kindly agreed to participate in a panel discussion on their own personal career journeys and views on leadership and share some key lessons they have learned along the way. 

Maire Barr, General Counsel – Europe, Kellanova

Máire Barr is General Counsel for Kellanova Europe (formerly Kellogg’s Europe), where she leads an award-winning legal team of 22 professionals across Europe. Máire has extensive experience across a range of areas of law and has played a critical role in significant projects such as navigating post-Covid transitions, acquisitions and divestitures, and the launch of Cheez-It in the UK and Ireland. She also leads Crisis Management for Europe. 

Prior to joining Kellanova over ten years ago, she worked at Coca-Cola, the Chief State Solicitors Office in Ireland, and in a general practice firm. 

Diarmaid Cunningham, Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Company Secretary, Icon plc

Diarmaid joined Icon plc as General Counsel in November 2009. From 2009 until 2013, Diarmaid was based in the Company’s global headquarters in Dublin. In 2013, he was seconded to the Company’s US headquarters in Pennsylvania and that secondment ended in 2018 when he returned to Dublin.

In July 2016, Diarmaid’s role expanded to include Chief Administrative Officer in addition to General Counsel which added responsibility for the Company’s Quality Assurance, Client Contracts Services, Facilities and Procurement groups in addition to his responsibility for the Company’s Legal group. In 2023, Symphony Health (ICON’s data business) moved to report to Diarmaid and was also added to his group. Prior to joining the Company, Diarmaid spent 10 years with A&L Goodbody. 

Elaine Fox, Head of Ireland and Head of Privacy Europe, TikTok

Elaine is TikTok's European Head of Privacy and Data Protection. Based in Dublin, Elaine leads a team of privacy professionals responsible for ensuring that the personal data of TikTok's users and staff, located across Europe, is protected in accordance with applicable privacy laws. Elaine joined TikTok in 2020 and she established TikTok's European privacy programme. Over the last number of years, she has built out TikTok's European privacy function. Prior to TikTok, Elaine was an Associate General Counsel in Meta, having worked for over a decade at two leading Irish law firms prior to moving in-house.

In 2024, Elaine was appointed as Head of TikTok Ireland and she is also a director on the TikTok Ireland Board. Elaine is passionate about privacy and technology, with a particular focus on driving privacy enhancing technology initiatives at global tech companies. 

Emma Maher, Group Senior Legal Counsel, Flutter Entertainment plc

Emma joined Flutter Entertainment plc in August 2024 as Group Senior Legal Counsel, where she supports M&A transactions and strategic initiatives across the organisation. Before joining Flutter, Emma gained in-house experience with an Irish financial services group, where she advised on a wide range of M&A and corporate law matters. She began her legal career at a leading law firm in Dublin, where she trained in corporate / M&A.

Dan McNamara, Senior Legal Counsel, CRH plc

Dan McNamara works at CRH plc as Senior Legal Counsel, M&A and is based in Dublin.  In his current role, Dan provides legal support and advice on M&A transactions for CRH across Europe, Asia and Australia.  Prior to joining CRH in 2023, Dan gained experience as an M&A lawyer in leading law firms in Dublin and New York.

Éanna O’Donnell, EMEA Regulatory Counsel, Stripe

Éanna works on the EMEA Regulatory Legal team at Stripe and supports internal teams (e.g. Product, Compliance, and Sales) with advice on EU financial regulations, global expansion, and product development. He trained as a solicitor in-house at Stripe - thanks to the help of his kind and patient colleagues! Éanna started his career at Stripe 10 years ago as the Dublin office's 2nd hire and, prior to working on the legal team, he worked on Stripe's Global Sanctions, Compliance, and User Operations teams.

Danielle O'Riordan, Associate General Counsel, Interactive Brokers Ireland

Danielle is Legal Counsel in the Dublin office of global online execution only broker and regulated MiFID investment firm, Interactive Brokers. Danielle advises on all manner of general legal and regulatory matters and manages domestic and cross-border contentious issues for Interactive Brokers across Europe. She previously spent several years working in the Regulatory Disputes and Investigations department of a top tier Irish firm.
