Apply by 20 June for the Law Society Skillnet Women in Leadership Mentoring Programme, designed to support career progression and strengthen the legal profession.

Resilience and confidence

As your career as a solicitor evolves, resilience and adaptability are as vital as technical expertise, and mentoring is a powerful tool to rely on for meeting the challenges you can encounter in your career.

By creating a safe space to communicate, this programme for women lawyers enables participants to share challenges, navigate uncertainty, and develop strategies for overcoming obstacles. Both mentors and mentees have found that the process helps them to build confidence, embrace change, and remain agile in the face of professional demands. By developing new skills and broadening your networks, you’ll find you are better equipped to lead, inspire, and drive positive change within your organisations and the wider profession.

One hour per month

For mentors and mentees there is a manageable time commitment of approximately one hour per month over eight months, plus training.

The programme carefully matches mentors and mentees to facilitate knowledge sharing and professional development.

Training and guidance are provided by Skillnet to ensure all participants feel confident and prepared to maximise the benefits of participation.

Ready to take the next steps?

Whether you are seeking to advance your career, expand your skill set, or enjoy the rewards from shaping the next generation of leaders, the Women in Leadership Mentoring Programme offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Applications for the 2025/26 programme are open until 20 June

By encouraging collaboration and the sharing of best practice, the Law Society’s Women in Leadership programme which was launched in 2018 contributes to a more inclusive, innovative, and supportive legal community.
