William Fry is currently seeking to recruit a part time Professional Support Lawyer to cover maternity leave from February to October.  

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with experience in private practice preferably in a larger firm;
  • Minimum 6 years relevant experience;
  • Commercially aware with a good understanding of business issues faced by corporate clients;
  • Target driven individual with strong organisational and project management skills;
  • Understanding of the importance of effective knowledge management in a law firm;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Excellent research skills and comprehensive understanding of Irish legislation;
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record of presenting to a senior level.

Key tasks

Research and Awareness

  • Monitoring new and proposed property related legislation, Irish/UK case law and Law Society, Revenue and PRA Practice Notes and Bulletins;
  • Researching the implications of legal developments for Irish law and practice and producing detailed briefings for Property Department;
  • Producing internal legal bulletins for firm-wide circulation;
  • Assisting with the production of briefings papers and presentations for clients;
  • Assisting fee earners with ad hoc legal research.

Know How, Precedents and Knowledge Management

  • Developing and managing collections of valuable knowhow;
  • Contributing to development of "house views" and agreed positions on technical issues;
  • Developing, reviewing and updating precedents and practice tools on an ongoing basis;
  • Designing and delivering training materials;
  • Communicating know how and precedent developments to the firm;
  • Promoting a good knowledge culture Client Bulletins;
  • Identifying key legal developments of interest to clients;
  • Assisting in research, drafting and the production of the content for online deliver;
  • Harnessing firm resources to deliver content to the website in a timely fashion to strict deadlines
