Criminal Procedure Act 2010

The Criminal Procedure Act 2010 came into effect on 1st September 2010.

The Act provides for the re-trial of murder cases in certain circumstances, such as where new and compelling evidence emerges, where the first trial was tainted by issues such as perjury or intimidation or where the judge at the first trial erred in law by, for example, excluding certain evidence.
