A number of Irish law firms have been honoured at the IFLR Europe Awards 2021, which were announced last night (29 April).
The awards celebrate legal innovation in cross-border deals, including merger-and-acquisition activity.
McCann FitzGerald and Arthur Cox were both recognised for their role in pharmaceutical giant AbbVie’s acquisition of Allergan, which was named as European ‘M&A Deal of the Year’.
McCann FitzGerald advised AbbVie, while Arthur Cox advised Allergan. The $63 billion deal was the largest acquisition of an Irish company.
In Ireland, Arthur Cox was named ‘National Firm of the Year’, and McCann FitzGerald ‘Banking and Finance Firm of the Year’.
Arthur Cox also took the award in the corporate category in Ireland, while A&L Goodbody was named ‘Debt and Equity-linked Firm of the Year’.
