Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB) has said it will continue to organise medical examinations during the latest phase of COVID-19 restrictions.
The board said that, after consulting the medical community, it had confirmed that most GP surgeries and consultant clinics outside of hospitals would continue to operate in the coming weeks.
“In order to ensure that our services to customers continue to be provided, the scheduling of medical examinations will continue as before,” PIAB said. “Where it transpires that an examination has been arranged for a surgery or clinic which is now not available, re-arrangement details will follow.”
The board said it would operate with “the utmost flexibility”, and asked any claimant with concerns about attending for a medical examination appointment to contact the relevant doctor or consultant or PIAB.
The board said all doctors on its medical panel were following HSE protocols and guidelines.
