A Law Reform Commission report on suspended sentences will be published on Monday.
The launch will be accompanied by a video from LRC President, Ms Justice Mary Laffoy and the project co-ordinator, Commissioner Tom O’Malley,
The report comes three years after the commission issued a call for submissions on an issues paper.
That document examined both the principles that apply to imposing suspended sentences and the procedures that apply to them.
Suspended sentences imposition had been decreased in the previous years, according to figures from the Courts Service.
