Judge resigns from Law Reform Commission
Mr Justice Richard Humphreys has resigned as a member of the Law Reform Commission.
The High Court judge was appointed to the law reform body by the Government last year for a five-year term, which started on 1 October.
The body’s website says that he resigned as a commissioner on 16 April with immediate effect.
Decision
In a statement, the commission said it was sorry to learn of his decision, adding that he had brought “energy and commitment” to his role. No reason was given for his resignation.
The commission provides expert and independent reviews of the law and makes recommendations for reforms.
