Blackhall team scoops  moot contest honours

The Law Society has offered its congratulations to the overall winners of the 2021 Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition.

Alysha Hoare, from Cork city, is a trainee solicitor at McCann FitzGerald in Dublin, and represented the Law Society at the virtual competition with her team-mates Ruth Cormican (MacGuill & Co, Dublin), and Mairead Hughes (A&L Goodbody LLP, Dublin).

The Law Society team took home the overall award in the competition in March 2021.  

The Law Society team also won ‘Best Memorial’ for written arguments, while Alysha Hoare was awarded ‘Best Oralist’ in the championship round, and Ruth Cormican was awarded ‘Best Oralist’ in the preliminary rounds.

Coach

The team was guided throughout the competition by their coach, Law Society director of education TP Kennedy.

The Law Society marked the win at an awards ceremony earlier this month.
