Taylor Wessing opens doors in Dublin with key hires

Global law firm Taylor Wessing has officially opened operations in Dublin, its 29th office worldwide, and fourth expansion this year.

Corporate lawyer Adam Griffiths, who was previously a member of the firm's private equity group, and relocated to Ireland in 2017, has returned to Taylor Wessing to lead operations in Dublin.

Cross-border corporate specialist Deirdre MacCarthy will join the firm as a partner from international law firm Maples Group on completion of her notice period.

Plans to open in Ireland were announced earlier this year for the firm, which specialises in life sciences, healthcare and technology.

Perfectly positioned

Adam Griffiths said: "We work with the world's most innovative people and businesses, and our new office in Dublin is perfectly positioned to help them grow and succeed in Ireland.

“With her extensive expertise and knowledge of Ireland's technology and life-sciences ecosystem, we are looking forward to Deirdre joining us.”

The firm plans to build a team focusing on intellectual property, information technology, data privacy, finance and employment.

Operations will be established, initially, through a co-working space.

Taylor Wessing is the trading name used by a number of law firms providing professional services. Each law firm is a separate and independent legal entity or partnership, and a member of, or affiliated to, a member of Taylor Wessing Verein.
