Social housing and local councils on LASBA agenda

The programme has been announced for the Local Authorities Solicitors’ Bar Association winter seminar.

To be held at Wood Quay in Dublin 8 on Friday 29 November, the full-day seminar will be addressed at 9.30 am on planning regulation by Niall Cussen of the Office of the Planning Regulator.

Senior counsel Stephen Dodd will speak on the Rates Bill.

James Morris, a solicitor with Kerry County Council, will speak on a recent experience with market rights regulation while at 12.30 the Data Sharing & Governance Act is the topic for John Healy, Law Agent with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.

Approved housing bodies                           

The role of approved housing bodies in the delivery of social housing will be addressed by Orla Cleary, head of legal, Tuath Housing Association. Solicitor Eimear O’Doherty will give the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council view of AHBs, while the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015 will be examined by John Elliot of the Law Society.

Finally, at four pm, recent case law on public procurement will be examined by Niamh Hyland SC.

The day qualifies for six CPD hours (five general and one regulatory).
