Former PSNI officer takes charge of roads and events

Former senior PSNI officer Paula Hilman, who is now an Assistant Commissioner in An Garda Síochána, has been assigned responsibility for roads policing and major event management.

This follows her initial assignment to the Garda Community Relations Bureau portfolio.

In April, after formally confirming the appointment of Detective Chief Superintendent Paula Hilman MBE as an Assistant Commissioner, the Policing Authority announced that long-serving PSNI Chief Inspector Stephen McCauley would also become a superintendent.

Streamline policing

The merger of roads policing and community relations is in line with commitments made to streamline and enhance policing.

Acting Assistant Commissioner Pat Clavin has been assigned responsibility for governance and accountability, which includes sections such as the anti-corruption unit, internal affairs, and risk management.

He was previously Detective Chief Superintendent at the Criminal Assets Bureau.

Accountability

Assistant Commissioner David Sheahan has been assigned responsibility for the Eastern Region. He previously held responsibility for governance and accountability, roads policing and major event management.
