Mercy Law training day on homelessness and the law

Mercy Law Resource Centre (MLRC) is running a training session on homelessness and housing law and related social welfare law, for those working in the field of housing and homelessness.

The day-long session will be delivered by one of the MLRC solicitors on Thursday 30 May at the Wisdom Centre, Sophia Housing Complex, 25 Cork Street, Dublin 8.

Background legal principles such as freedom of information, data protection, legal aid, fair procedures and the European Convention on Human Rights will all be scrutinised.

An overview of housing law is also scheduled including housing list priority, housing assistance payment (HAP), standards of housing and the duty of maintenance, anti-social behaviour and estate management, evictions and equality.

MLRC case studies will also be examined.

Charity providing free legal advice

MLRC is an independent law centre and registered charity providing free legal advice, representation and befriending services to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
