Former Law Society President and current Council member Michael Quinlan has been appointed chair of the Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA).

The PSRA role is to control and supervise property services providers (PSPs), including auctioneers, estate agents, letting agents, and management agents.

The PSRA works to protect the interests of the public by ensuring that high standards are maintained in the delivery of property services.

Mr Quinlan is the managing partner of the Dublin firm of Dixon Quinlan Solicitors. A native of Dublin, he has been in practice since qualifying as a solicitor in 1981.

Conveyancing specialist

His practice specialises in conveyancing, probate, defence litigation, and acting on behalf of local authorities in the prosecution of offences under planning legislation, and breaches of environmental legislation. 

He is a former chair of the Law Society’s Regulation of Practice Committee and is a former president of the Dublin Solicitors’ Bar Association.

He has been a board member of the Courts Service and of the Irish Auditing and Accounting Supervisory Authority (IASSA). He is a practising notary public and a member of the Faculty of Notaries Public in Ireland.
