The annual one-day conference of the Kildare Solicitors’ Bar Association (KSBA) will take place on 27 September at the K Club in Straffan.
The day offers seven hours of CPD, including five general hours, one hour of management and professional development, and one regulatory hour.
Mr Justice Michael Peart (Court of Appeal) will chair the conference, which comes just one month before his retirement as a judge.
Mr Justice Peart will make his opening remarks, followed by Geraldine Fitzpatrick BL who will speak on the Domestic Violence Act 2018.
Legal costs accountant Denis Shelly will update practitioners on costs developments, while solicitor Louise O’Donovan will provide a conveyancing update.
Mark O’Riordan BL will address the topic of contentious probate matters, while solicitor Keith Walsh (chair of the LSRA Legal Costs Working Group) will speak on Section 150 notices.
At 4.15 pm, solicitor David Gibbons will provide an update on personal injuries litigation, solicitor Stephen Walsh will address capacity and Wards of Court practice, while solicitor Helen Coughlan will speak about legal issues relating to cohabitants.
The conference cost, including a four-course hot lunch, is €150.
A gala dinner will take place later in the evening (cost €65), which will be preceded by drinks reception at 6pm.
