The former chief of staff at EY Ireland, Niamh O’Mara, has been appointed chief operating officer at legal services outsourcing company Johnson Hana, as part of its expansion strategy.

An expert in organisational transformation, O’Mara has worked at a strategic level with a number of start-ups, scale-ups and large-scale multinationals in Europe and Asia.

Gap

Johnson Hana was established to fill the gap between high-value partner-led legal advice and low-value process-driven legal work, to help clients scale back on unnecessary legal spend.

The company appointed global privacy expert Caroline Goulding as an advisor in May, from social-media platform TikTok, where she headed the data-protection team.

Barrister

A qualified barrister, O’Mara is a UL graduate in Law, European Studies and French. She is also a qualified project manager (Project Management Professional) and change manager (Irish Management Institute).

Founder Dan Fox said that Niamh O’Mara would complement the existing team and help Johnson Hana scale upwards in the firm’s global development.

The company has over 1,000 lawyers registered on its platform, and has provided services to large companies, such as Bank of Ireland, ESB, Twitter, Airbnb and Tesco.
