High Court's  COVID-19 arrangements to continue

The President of the High Court Mr Justice Peter Kelly has confirmed that the current arrangements for the conduct of court business in the High Court will remain the same until further notice.

Urgent business

On the criminal side, only bail and extradition applications will be dealt with, while six types of urgent business will be dealt with on the civil side. These are:

  • Habeas Corpus,
  • Injunctions and the enforcement of same,
  • Examinerships,
  • Urgent Wardship matters,
  • Urgent Judicial Review applications, and
  • Issue of proceedings where the statutory time limit to issue is close to expiring.
