Free family law conference will canvas expert opinions

A free, family law conference will take place on Wednesday, 2 June from 3-5pm.  

The conference includes a panel of national and international experts from the Department of Justice, the Courts Service, Trinity College Dublin, as well as Britain.

Reform plans

Panellists will examine current family law reform plans and what the Irish system can learn from developments in other jurisdictions.

Panellists include:

  • Dr Stephanie Holt, associate professor, Trinity College Dublin,
  • Emer Darcy, head of family law reform, the Irish Courts Service.
  • Dr Jan Ewing, University of Exeter,
  • Liam Coen, family justice oversight group, Department of Justice,
  • Karen Kiernan, One Family.

The event will be chaired by Sinéad Gibney (chief commissioner of IHREC).
