Eversheds Sutherland secures data standard

Law firm Eversheds Sutherland has been awarded internationally-recognised certification for its data protection and information security systems.

The firm now holds the ISO 27001 standard for information security management systems in the Republic of Ireland and in Northern Ireland for its Dublin and Belfast offices.

Protect

ISO 27001 involves regular staff awareness, education and training including technical and procedural measures to help organisations manage their information assets.

The certification can help protect systems against computer-assisted fraud, cyber-attack, sabotage and viruses. It uses risk assessment and business impact analysis to identify and manage risk to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.

Alan Murphy (pictured, right), managing partner at Eversheds Sutherland Ireland, said the news would further reassure clients and stakeholders of its commitment to protecting clients’ data and adhering to international best practices.
