Courts Service plans audio system overhaul

The Courts Service is seeking tenders for the provision of maintenance, support and storage services for the digital-audio-recording (DAR) system used in the courts.

According to the tender notice, the value of the contract will be €3 million.

The successful bidder will support, manage and maintain DAR hardware, software and appliances across all courtroom installations.

“Tenderers will also be required to propose solutions for the replacement of individual systems, and for a broader refresh of the installed systems,” the courts body says.

The Courts Service is currently implementing a 10-year modernisation plan that includes a greater use of digital resources. It has also had to move quickly to implement new solutions to keep the courts operating during COVID-19 restrictions.
