Court of Appeal to hear lists to fix dates

The President of the Court of Appeal Mr Justice George Birmingham has said that the Court of Appeal will continue to hear and increase its remote hearings.

From today (11 May), there will be three virtual courts sitting. In each court, one or two appeals will be listed, depending on the expected duration of the hearing.

Lists to fix dates will be heard in the coming days and weeks.

Suitable cases

Parties involved in appeals suitable for remote hearing are urged to add their cases to one of those lists, through the Court of Appeal Office.

The Criminal Courts of Justice will facilitate the virtual remote hearings of criminal appeals, civil appeals with a criminal or quasi-criminal dimension, and the business that, ordinarily, would be conducted in the Court of Appeal building.
