Chief Justice confirmed for final Burren Law School

The Burren Law School is closing up shop this year after a 26-year run with a final event on the May bank holiday weekend.

This year’s programme addresses the future of democracy and the challenges for human rights and politics both at home and abroad.

Confirmed speakers include Chief Justice Frank Clarke, Barra McGrory QC, (former DPP for Northern Ireland), US-based journalist Marion McKeon, Professor Conor Gearty (professor of Human Rights Law at the London School of Economics), Eamon Ryan TD and Caitriona Crowe.

Legal learning
Each May bank holiday the Burren Law School has aimed to recreate the tradition of legal learning associated with the Brehon Law Schools, allowing the past to illuminate the present in Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare.

Bookings can be made here.
