The next Lawyers Against Homelessness (LAH) CPD event will take place on 26 March from 3.30-7.30 pm and bookings are open now.
Lawyers Against Homelessness, a collaborative effort between barristers and solicitors, has raised over €165,000 for the Brother Kevin and the Capuchin Centre since the legal charity was established in 2017.
Every day, hundreds of Dublin’s homeless and needy are given hot meals and basic necessities at the Capuchin Day Centre in Dublin 7’s Bow Street.
All proceeds from LAH CPD events go directly to the charity.
Brother Kevin has expressed his profound gratitude to the entire legal community for its support in a letter delivered this week.
He writes that the huge sums raised have been accumulated through the LAH initiative of holding their CPD events at the Capuchin Day Centre itself.
Brother Kevin writes that each week the centre distributes 1800 food parcels as well as providing medical, dental, optical and personal hygiene facilities to the needy.
Kindness and support
“Without the kindness and support of people like your good selves, it would not be possible for us to continue to provide the same high standard of help and assistance to the most needy and vulnerable in Irish society,” he writes.
All donors are prayed for daily in the adjacent St Mary of the Angels Franciscan church in Church Street, Dublin 7.
Those wishing to book for the 26 March CPD event should contact Sophie Honohan BL at the Law Library.
