Bloomsbury's inaugural corporation tax conference

Bloomsbury Professional will hold its inaugural Irish Corporation Tax Conference on Wednesday 20 November, with a range of expert speakers who will address the Budget, the new Finance Bill, and a fresh attempt at Brexit.

The venue is Chartered Accountants House, Pearse Street in Dublin 2. Registration takes place from 8.30am, with the conference starting at 9am and finishing with a Q&A session at 3.45pm.

Speakers

The speakers are:

  • Seamus Coffey (Irish Fiscal Advisory Council), speaking on Brexit,
  • Deirdre Donaghy (Department of Finance), speaking on the Finance Bill 2019, corporation tax and the Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive (ATAD),
  • Tom Maguire (Deloitte), who will examine the general anti-avoidance rule in TCA 97, section 811C and disclosure to Revenue  of certain cross-border transactions,
  • Ken Hardy (KPMG), who will speak about research and development tax incentives in Ireland,
  • Ronan Finn (PwC) who will give an Irish transfer pricing update, and cover the evolving framework for taxing the ‘digital’ economy,
  • Aidan Walsh (EY) will cover the practical impact on the financial services sector of the new global tax environment. He will also cover the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax-Treaty-related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting, the Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive  and the Mandatory Disclosure regime, and
  • Olivia Long( Matheson) who will give an overview of the international tax landscape, providing an update on OECD and EU initiatives on the taxation of the digital economy. She will also cover state aid and the international tax measures in the Finance Bill 2019.
