Age-verification on cards for porn access

29 Apr 2019 / legislation Print

Robust age-verification mooted for porn access

The Government is believed to be considering ‘porn-blocking’ as part of a new online safety push.

This would follow the lead set in Britain whereby robust age-verification is expected of websites peddling porn.

Verification options range from the purchase of a viewing card in a bricks-and-mortar shop to the scanning of a person’s passport or driver’s licence or credit card.
