The Law Society’s Younger Members Committee (YMC) will conduct an industry-specific survey of the legal profession this month (July) to assess the challenges associated with remote working.
The survey has been developed with consultants Smith and Williamson and the YMC has also engaged in discussions with the Employment Law Committee, the Environmental and Sustainability Task Force, the Technology Committee and the Law Society’s Career Support team.
Feedback is sought on the technology which members have found useful during lockdown as well as insight into what additional supports will be required into the future.
Future work arrangements
The goal is to elicit members' views on the future of working arrangements.
Will they move to a fully remote working model, a hybrid model or a return to more traditional work arrangements?
All of these questions should be assessed in light of the State obligation to introduce a law on flexible working arrangements by August 2022, in order to comply with an EU directive on work-life balance.
All Law Society members are encouraged you to participate in this survey which will issue directly from Smith and Williamson in the coming weeks.
Be sure to participate and give your views.
