Trainee jailed for sending explicit image

A trainee solicitor who sent unwanted explicit messages and an image to a woman he was representing at court has been jailed, the England-and-Wales Law Society Gazette reports.

Mohammed Ahmed, from Birmingham, had added one of his female clients on social media, claiming he had done so accidentally. 

He then sent the woman explicit messages and the explicit image of himself before she reported the matter to West Midlands Police. 

Unsolicited explicit image

Ahmed (28) was charged with sending the unsolicited explicit image to cause alarm, distress or humiliation.

He admitted the offence when he appeared last month at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court and was jailed for five months and placed on the sexual offender register for five years.

It is unclear whether Ahmed ever qualified and whether he was still working in the profession at the time of his conviction.
