Outsource joins Azets Ireland as regs intensify

As the commercial and regulatory demands on Irish law firms continue to intensify, the advisory landscape supporting the legal profession is undergoing its own strategic evolution.

The specialist team behind Outsource – a leading dedicated commercial, financial, and practice management advisors to law firms – has joined Azets.

Scale meets sector-specific expertise

While the core advisory team remains unchanged, the integration allows Irish legal practices to access a broader spectrum of specialised corporate services under one roof.

Services include tax structuring, audit, cyber risk management, restructuring, and cross-border advisory.

“The business of law in Ireland has shifted dramatically,” notes David Rowe, founder of Outsource and now Partner at Azets.

“Firms are now managing complex financial metrics, heightened cybersecurity threats, and unprecedented competition for talent.

"Joining Azets allows us to preserve the practical, highly tailored support our clients rely on, while delivering the full depth and scale of a major professional services practice.”

Neil Hughes, chief executive of Azets Ireland added: “Outsource has established an unrivalled reputation in the legal sector. Welcoming David, Donal Maher, and the Outsource team strengthens our commitment to supporting professional services firms as they scale, merge, and navigate evolving market conditions.”

Issues facing law firms

Azets Ireland will host its annual practice management conference  throughout October.

The nationwide conference series will tour Kilkenny, Dublin, Cork, Limerick, and Galway, alongside a dedicated online session, offering law firm leaders a practical forum to benchmark performance and discuss strategy.

Key themes include:

  • Margin protection and pricing models: Benchmarking profit margins across firm sizes and implementing alternative pricing strategies amidst inflationary pressure.
  • Practice valuations and mergers: Evaluating current market values for buying or selling a law practice, alongside the critical do’s and don’ts of successful firm consolidations.
  • Talent acquisition and retention: Navigating 2026 pay structures and evolving staffing dynamics in a competitive recruitment landscape.
  • Risk and cyber mitigation: Analysing trends in the Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) market, mitigating cyber risks, and optimising banking relationships.
  • Strategic growth: A special leadership session delivered by Neil Hughes on practical strategies for growing and future-proofing professional service firms.

Each session features first-hand insights from experienced managing partners and industry specialists, providing four CPD hours fully accredited across all core disciplines (business and financial management, practice management, self-management, and risk management).
