Largest CSSO intake yet, as ten start PPC
Ten trainee solicitors with the Chief State Solicitor's Office began their Law Society Professional Practice Course (PPC) at Blackhall Place this week.
The trainees were pictured at the CSSO offices at Smithfield Hall on Monday (7 September), where they met their mentors, members of the management board, and Chief State Solicitor Maria Browne.
The training programme is now in its fifth year, and this is its largest intake.
The CSSO is one of Ireland’s largest legal practices, employing over 180 solicitors and over 350 staff in total.
Sound judgment
The aims to train individuals with a strong public-service ethos who show “commitment, energy, and sound judgment”.
During the traineeship, trainees gain experience in different areas of legal practice by completing rotations.
Speaking at Monday’s welcome event, Assistant Chief State Solicitor Ciara Murphy told the trainees that they didn’t just go to Blackhall as students, “but as part of the CSSO… part of something bigger.”
The senior management valued its trainees as the next generation of legal talent, she said.
