2026 Matheson Cara Scholarship awarded
Matheson, in association with Trinity College Dublin (TCD), has said that law student, Ellias Taye, has been awarded the 2026 Matheson Cara Scholarship.
Named in memory of the late Cara O'Hagan, a former partner at Matheson, the scholarship aims to support students who may face barriers in accessing third-level education and help talented individuals realise their academic and professional ambitions.
Open to second-year undergraduate students at Trinity College Dublin, including students participating in the Higher Education Access Route (HEAR) and Disability Access Route to Education (DARE) schemes, and mature students, the scholarship provides financial support, mentoring and professional development opportunities.
As the 2026 Matheson Cara scholar, Taye had a summer internship with Matheson.
He will also receive a bursary of €5,000 for each academic year and use of a mentor.
