MHC offers training for education professionals

Mason Hayes & Curran are launching a pilot programme of legal training for education professionals on 19 March.

The child protection training for education professionals, developed by MHC education, health and prosecution teams, will take place at Dublin’s Grand Hotel in Malahide from 9.30 am to 1pm.

Attendance will yield five hours of CPD – 3.5 hours in person and 1.5 hours of online content and reading.

The cost is €600 per person  and the first 25 applicants will avail of a bespoke rate for training and engage in feedback.

Designated liaison officers

This is an opportunity for school principals and board members, teachers, and designated liaison officers to take part in the first training session, facilitated by Catherine Kelly, (employment and benefits team partner) and Sonya Bruen, (former social worker and health and prosecution team partner).

Drawing on the lawyers’ experience of advising schools on child protection issues and management of child protection cases in court, this workshop will help professionals strengthen their legal knowledge and courtroom readiness.
