Qualified solicitor Gráinne Mannion is one of two new members of the Corporate Enforcement Authority (CEA).
Ministers at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment have also confirmed the appointment of Seán Cotter as a member of the body, which enforces company law.
The appointments, for five-year terms, follow a Public Appointments Service recruitment process.
They follow a formal request from the CEA last year for the appointment of additional members to support its mandate.
Separately, Ian Drennan, currently the sole member of the authority, has been appointed as chair in accordance with the Companies Act 2014, which requires the minister to appoint a chair where the CEA consists of more than one member.
His appointment will take effect when the new members join the CEA on 27 July.
The department describes Mannion as an experienced executive with expertise in risk, compliance, and internal audit, as well as deep regulatory knowledge in financial services.
She has held senior leadership roles across large, international organisations – including BCMGlobal, AIB, and Danske Bank.
Cotter is a chartered accountant, a chartered banker, a qualified insolvency practitioner, and a member of several insolvency and financial-services professional bodies in Ireland and internationally. He has held senior roles in Ulster Bank and KPMG.
“The expansion of the authority will significantly enhance its capacity to respond to increasingly complex corporate wrongdoing,” said Minister Peter Burke.
“As the organisation continues to grow in scale and public profile, an expanded authority will support greater member-led involvement in driving delivery, quality, and impact across the full spectrum of our statutory functions and will help us achieve our long-term ambitions as an organisation,” said Drennan.
