LILA to hear from financial-services lawyers

The London Irish Lawyers Association (LILA) is organising a number of upcoming events.

The rescheduled Fieldfisher LILA in-house legal breakfast will take place on Thursday 18 June, with the topic 'Life in financial services: legal, governance and what keeps us busy.'

The event will take place at the Fieldfisher London office (Riverbank House, EC4R 3TT) from 8.45am until 10.30am.

The panel will include:

  • John O’Brien (head of legal and data protection, Revolut),
  • Doireann McHugh (counsel, legal, BNY)
  • Paul McCullagh (company secretary, Monzo), and
  • William Glover (director [barrister] dispute resolution, Fieldfisher).

Please sign up if you would like to attend.
For further information please contact William Glover at william.glover@fieldfisher.com.

Fight for justice

LILA members will also hear from the Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) on its fight for justice in an era of breakdown of international law.

The event will take place remotely on Wednesday 1 July, at 12.30pm.

Drawing on GLAN's work across atrocity crimes, forced labour, and environmental harm, this session explores how legal tools can be used to create friction where political systems fail.

It will also examine what role the legal profession may play in ensuring that minimum humanitarian and environmental norms retain practical force.

Meanwhile, the LILA summer party, sponsored by Mason Hayes & Curran LLP, raised over £1,000 for Irish Community Services.
