International law firm Simmons & Simmons has hired Louise Dobbyn as a partner in its financial-services-regulation practice in Dublin.
The firm describes Dobbyn, who joins from Matheson, as “one of the leading advisers in the Irish market” on Irish and EU financial-services regulation.
She advises international financial institutions – including banks, investment firms, fund-service providers, fintechs, and crypto firms – on Irish and EU financial-services regulation.
Her practice covers strategic planning, authorisations, regulatory-change projects, mergers and acquisitions, and ongoing compliance support.
Simmons & Simmons says that Dobbyn’s arrival will allow the firm to respond to growing demand for complex, cross-border regulatory advice.
Rachel Stanton (country head, Ireland) said that she would be “an outstanding asset” to the firm.
“She is recognised in the Irish market for her technical expertise and strong client relationships, and her arrival will enhance our offering to clients as we support them through the full lifecycle of their regulatory needs,” Stanton added.
The appointment is one of ten hires announced by the firm across seven of its offices worldwide.
