Sec gen vacancy at Department of Justice

Current secretary general at the Department of Justice Home Affairs and Migration Oonagh McPhillips is to retire in April, after 40 years’ service.

The retirement leaves a vacancy for one of the top justice-administration jobs in the country.

The vacancy has been advertised on publicjobs.ie with a closing date of February 12.

First woman

Dublin native McPhillips was appointed sec gen in September 2020 – the first woman to hold the position. 

The department is responsible for over 4,600 people, with a budget of €2.7 billion.
