Dervla Broderick named ALG competition partner

A&L Goodbody LLP (ALG) has appointed Dervla Broderick as a partner in its EU, competition and procurement practice.

Dervla joins the ALG’s team led by Vincent Power along with partners Alan McCarthy and Anna Marie Curran in Dublin and Micaela Diver in Belfast.

With approaching 20 years’ experience, Dervla has worked in international law firms in Britain and Ireland advising clients on all aspects of Irish, EU and British competition law.

Antitrust matters

She specialises in a range of antitrust matters, including merger control, foreign direct investment, foreign subsidies regulation, investigations and cartel issues.

Dervla also served as Deputy Director of Competition Enforcement and Mergers at the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) in Ireland.

Managing partner David Widger said that competition and procurement matters have become increasingly important.

“Dervla is a very welcome addition to our strong, cross-border team, bringing with her significant experience and knowledge,” he said.
