Two sisters appointed partners at Galway firm

The managing partner of Galway’s O’Donnell Waters Solicitors LLP Gerard O’Donnell has said he is delighted to announce the appointment of his two daughters, Isabelle O’Donnell and Esther O’Donnell, as partners in the firm.

Isabelle O’Donnell has been working with O’Donnell Waters Solicitors since 2010, and Esther O’Donnell joined the firm over a year ago after practising with a commercial firm in Dublin since 2019.

Milestone

This appointment marks a significant milestone as the new partners represent the third generation of the O’Donnell family in legal practice in Galway, a legacy spanning over 90 years.

The family’s legal experience is notably varied, starting with the qualification of Gerard O’Donnell senior as a practising solicitor in the 1930s and his subsequent service as County Registrar in Galway from 1958 to 1979.

Managing partner Gerard O’Donnell has over 40 years’ experience as a qualified solicitor practising in Galway city and is also a former council member of the Law Society.

He served for five years (2009–2013) on the Council.

Gerard O’Donnell also served on the Regulation of Practice Committee, and the Litigation Committee.

The appointments reinforce the position of O’Donnell Waters Solicitors as a long-standing firm in Galway city.

Together, the partners say they look forward to continuing to deliver exceptional legal advice to their clients.
