Two join Philip Lee from Ogier as partners

Commercial-law firm Philip Lee LLP has strengthened its employment and corporate practices with the appointment of two new partners.

Bláthnaid Evans has joined the firm’s employment team from Ogier, where she was a partner and head of employment and immigration.

Edon Byrnes has also joined from Ogier to become a partner in Philip Lee’s corporate and M&A (mergers and acquisitions) team.

Evans advises employers on all contentious and non‑contentious employment-law issues – including employment contracts and policies, TUPE (transfer of undertakings) and outsourcing, workplace investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes, protected disclosures, and employment litigation.

‘Continued investment’ in corporate team

Byrnes has extensive experience advising Irish and international clients on a broad range of corporate matters – including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, and general company law. He also works with companies setting up in Ireland.

Byrnes’s appointment expands Philip Lee’s corporate and M&A team to 18 partners. The firm says this highlights its continued investment in building one of Ireland’s leading teams in the area.

“Bláthnaid and Edon are both highly regarded in their respective fields and bring exactly the kind of experience and perspective that supports our long‑term vision for the firm and our clients,” said managing partner Jonathan Kelly.

Earlier this year, Philip Lee announced a merger with BHK Solicitors LLP, which was focused on expanding the combined firm’s business in the Cork area.
