DFAT seeking interns for legal division

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is inviting applications for paid internships in its legal division, which will start this summer.

The internships, which will coincide with Ireland’s six-month EU presidency starting on 1 July, will be for a maximum of 15 months and will run to August/September 2027.

Selection will be on the basis of a competitive interview and the closing date for applications is Monday 9 March (5pm).

Law graduates

Internship positions will be filled from a panel established after the interviews.

Applicants must be graduates in law at the date of application (at least at 2:1 level or equivalent experience or qualification).

The department’s legal division seeks to ensure an appropriate legal input into the formulation and implementation of Ireland’s foreign policy and to contribute to effective Irish participation in international legal fora.
