The Law Society’s Environmental and Planning Law Committee is to host a panel discussion at UCC’s upcoming Law and the Environment Conference 2026.
Committee chair Rachel Minch SC will chair the session, entitled ‘Topical issues in planning and environmental law in practice’, at the event, which takes place on Thursday 23 April.
Among the panel members is Carol Day of London-based law firm Leigh Day, who will speak about the British experience of environmental legal costs and its Aarhus costs-capping regime, which provides costs protection for certain judicial reviews and statutory reviews.
Mr Justice Richard Humphreys, judge in charge of the Planning and Environment Court, is also scheduled to speak on the panel on the topic of ‘Balancing access and efficiency’.
Alison Fanagan SC (A&L Goodbody) will look at climate law as an emerging area of practice.
Programme and registration details are available on the UCC website.
