Value of services fell slightly in July – CSO

CSO data shows that the value of all services fell by 0.7% in July, when compared with June.

However, the value of all services output was 16% higher in July in comparison with July 2024.

The volume of all services was down by 2 % in July 2025 when compared with June 2025, the data shows.

All services were 15.8% higher in volume terms in July when compared with July 2024.

Decrease

The largest monthly value decrease was recorded in the transportation and storage sector (-4.8%), while professional, scientific and technical activities (-3.2%) had the largest volume decrease.

Statistician Tommy Allen said “Looking at changes on an annual basis, the all-services index was 16.0% higher in value and up 15.8% in volume terms in July 2025 when compared with July 2024.

“This increase was largely driven by the strong performances of the information and communication sector over the previous year, up 29.7% in value and 28.0% in volume.”
