Provisional results from Law Society Council vote
The provisional results of the Law Society Council election for 2025 are now available, after a meeting of the scrutineers agreed their report last week.
The following candidates were deemed elected in the national election.

- Niamh Counihan,
- Bill Holohan SC,
- Keith Walsh SC,
- Brendan Cunningham,
- Justine Carty,
- Sonia McEntee,
- Richard Hammond SC,
- Valerie Peart,
- Gary Lee,
- Hilary O'Connor,
- Niamh Ní Mhurchú,
- Paul Keane,
- Susan Martin,
- Shane McCarthy, and
- Dónal Hamilton.
As only a single nomination was received in both Connacht and Munster, David Higgins and Derek Walsh, respectively, were elected as provincial delegates.
The scrutineers’ report will be considered at the Law Society’s AGM on Thursday 13 November.
