One-day course on planning for retirement

A one-day course on retirement planning for legal practitioners will take place in Kilkenny later this month.

Law Society Skillnet is organising the event, which takes place at Hotel Kilkenny, College Rd, Sugarloafhill, Kilkenny, on 19 November (10am to 4pm).

Five CPD hours by group study are available from attendance – one client care and professional standards, one general, and three professional development and solicitor wellbeing.

Registration is still open.

Topics and speakers

Topics include:

  • A brief overview of retirement and its significance in one's life,
  • Why retirement planning is crucial,
  • Different retirement options,
  • Movement, mobility, and independence for the future,
  • Prepare your mind for retirement,
  • Regulation: what to do when you close your firm, and
  • Tax and retirement.

The speakers include:

  • Mike O’Reilly (principal, O’Reilly Business Solutions),
  • Maggie Mulpeter (retired solicitor, relationship and parent mentor, public speaker, and group facilitator),
  • Sarah Keogh (founder, Eatwell),
  • Liam Barrett (solicitor, Law Society regulation department), and
  • Michael O’Scathaill (director, taxation, Crowe).
