June update for solicitors in mid-west
Law Society Skillnet is holding its annual update for practitioners in the mid-west region on Thursday 12 June.
The event takes place at The Strand Hotel, Ennis Road, Limerick (10am to 5.30pm).
Six CPD hours are available from attendance (2.5 general, two for professional development and solicitor wellbeing, and 1.5 for client care and professional standards).
The aim is to provide an opportunity for practitioners to update their knowledge in areas of law relevant to general practice. There will also be an opportunity to network with colleagues over lunch and a drinks reception.
Topics and speakers
The event will cover topics that include:
- Practice updates on probate, family law, and litigation,
- Injuries Resolution Board – applications and common queries,
- How to prepare for an audit – top tips,
- Digital marketing and brand awareness,
- Succession planning, and
- Communication skills and time management.
Darach McCarthy (President of Limerick Bar Association and Darach McCarthy & Co Solicitors) and Louise Merrigan (President of Clare Bar Association and Kerin, Hickman & O’Donnell Solicitors) will chair the event.

- Mike O’Reilly (O’Reilly Business Services),

- Michelle Nolan (head of solicitor services, Law Society),
- Sorcha Hayes (head of practice regulation, Law Society), and
- Alana Fearon (consultant and previously head of web and digital at the Law Society).
