The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) has launched a selection process for the office of judge of the Circuit Court.
The council, which began work in March, has been asked to recommend up to three candidates to the Government to fill one vacancy.
Only individuals recommended by the JAC will be recommended by the Government for appointment by the President.
The closing date for applications is 5pm on Thursday 29 May.
The application process and the reference process are both fully digitised.
Applicants must register, complete, and submit their application through the online portal, which can be accessed from the commission’s website.
Referees nominated by applicants will be notified by the commission and will be provided with a link to an online reference form. References must be received by Thursday 5 June.
The JAC was established on 1 January 2025, replacing the now-dissolved Judicial Appointments Advisory Board.
The new body was set up under the Judicial Appointments Commission Act 2023 to select and recommend people for all judicial offices in Ireland, and in the EU and international courts.
