Seminar to update on probate and tax

Law Society Professional Training, in collaboration with STEP Ireland, will hold its 2025 update on probate and tax later this week. 

The live Zoom webinar takes place on Thursday, 6 March, from 2pm to 5pm. It is worth three general CPD hours. 

The seminar aims to provide general practitioners with an overview of recent developments in probate, administration, and taxation practice from a practical perspective.  

The seminar is designed in collaboration with STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), the Law Society’s Taxation Committee, and the Probate, Administration of Estates and Trusts Committee.

Topics and speakers 

Topics and issues to be covered include: 

  • Probate and administration of estates for non-residents,
  • Succession and probate case-law update,
  • E-probate process,
  • Clearance in death cases/non-residents. 

STEP chair Sandra Meade, a member of the O’Hanlon Tax team, will chair the event. 

The speakers are: 

  • Jane O’ Quigley (O’Connell Brennan LLP),
  • Jim Dalton (Probate Office),
  • Dan Oosthuizen (Assistant Principal, Revenue), and
  • Mark O’Riordan BL.
