Workshop on managing projects efficiently

Law Society Skillnet is holding a one-day online workshop on project management next week.

Participants will learn how to manage projects efficiently from inception to completion.

The workshop will take place through Zoom on Thursday 19 June (10am to 5pm). It is worth six CPD hours for professional development and solicitor wellbeing.

It is designed for all staff in the legal profession who engage in projects and who would benefit from having a detailed understanding of how projects are best planned, executed, monitored, and controlled to ensure a successful outcome.

Questionnaire

Participants will be asked to complete a pre-course questionnaire, to ensure that the programme is pitched at the appropriate level for each participant.

The trainer is Moira Dunne (OLAS), a consultant who has experience in the pharmaceutical, IT, regulatory, and financial-services sectors in Ireland, Britain, and the US.

The main areas to be covered are:

• Introduction to project management,
• Execution,
• Governance,
• Project-management planning (PMP),
• Managing and controlling projects,
• Reporting and control, and
• Close-out.
