The Government is seeking to fill three vacancies on the board of Skillnet Ireland, which works with industry to improve skills in the workforce.
The Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science has invited expressions of interest from “suitably qualified and experienced” people.
Among the areas of skill and experience listed as ‘essential’ for applicants is legal expertise.
The department also says that experience with the legislation and environment in which Skillnet Ireland operates and the obligations that apply to a public body is ‘desirable’ for applicants.
The legislation listed includes the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies, Ethics in Public Office Act, Lobbying Act, and Freedom of Information Act.
The board members will be nominated by Minister James Lawless for terms of three years.
The closing date for applications is Friday 18 July (3pm).
