Webinar for legal professionals in charities

The Charities Regulator is hosting a free lunchtime webinar for legal professionals on 22 July at 12.30pm, focused on what solicitors and legal advisors need to know when dealing with charity property.

Those advising a charity that is selling or transferring property may be interested to learn more about when the Charities Regulator’s authorisation is required and the process to follow in order to obtain it.

This practical lunchtime webinar is designed specifically for solicitors and legal professionals who work with charities or individuals dealing with charitable property.

Legal requirements

This session will explain the legal requirements and regulatory processes involved when authorisation from the Charities Regulator may be needed.

What the webinar will cover:

  • Statutory remit of Charities Regulator – what the regulator can and cannot do,
  • When authorisation of a sale is required,
  • How to apply and what is involved in the process,
  • What the regulator expects to be included with an application,
  • Appointing new trustees in the context of the sale of charity property.

The session will provide practitioners with a practical insight in relation to what to expect when dealing with the Charities Regulator.

This webinar represents one hour for the Law Society's CPD scheme.

Registration is now open.
